The sun has come out the last couple weeks and I have major Spring fever! I love incorporating that bright feeling into our home with fresh pastels and bright palettes. I wanted to share 5 easy ways to spice up your kitchen for  Spring:

Colorful plates: Whatever your current dishes, you can introduce some pretty pastels without having to completely replace your set.  Instead, pick out a few plates in a pretty spring hue and stack them to mix textures and colors for a perfect spring place setting.
Linens: Small details are such an easy way to transition your kitchen from season to season. Kitchen towels and linen napkins are one of those details – there are so many pretty options to brighten up your kitchen for spring. Love this colorful floral option and this pretty patterned set. Also love this napkin set and this teal set patterned.
Put it on display: Some of the best spring colors are the ones from the fresh fruits or vegetables around the kitchen, so don’t hesitate to display it in a pretty bowl! It doubles as a perfect centerpiece.
Fresh flowers: I will never say no to fresh flowers around the house, and spring makes it even easier. Whether it’s from freshly picked wild flowers or a pretty bouquet from the farmers market, they are the perfect addition to any kitchen. Love these pretty glass vases and how gorgeous cool is this one?
There are so many other great details that are an excuse to bring in some extra color to your space. It seems like with wedding season and all the registries ahead there are lots of great pieces coming out right now. I  love the selection at Anthropologie – they have so many cute things on their registry page I get a little carried away haha. But it works out because I always like to keep a couple gifts on hand for weddings, bridal showers, house-warming gifts, etc. Here are some of my favorites:
You’ve probably seen them on the blog or my Instagram before, but I’m obsessed with Anthropologie’s colorful bowls. Also love this patterned set.
Mugs make a great gift that everyone will use and love. Love this bright set and this beautiful teacup and saucer set.
Throws are another universal gift – who doesn’t love a cozy blanket? I’m a sucker for these faux fur throws and this patterned colorful blanket. I also just got this one and I’m obsessed with it – so cozy!
Stemmed glasses are one of those gifts that are guaranteed to be on just about every registry. I love this gold-rimmed colorful style (also here) – so chic!

I just got this throw too. It’s so soft and I love all the textures on it. This was one of my favorite pics from our shoot I love how the flowers look against the green velvet!

How to Choose Shoes for a Baby

One of the things that moms like to do is shop for their babies, whether it is a newborn or toddler. During the first three years of the baby’s life they usually end up owning the most clothes, shoes, toys and other baby stuff.

It may be fun buying baby stuff but it is not an easy task. When shopping for the little one you need to take into consideration factors such as: cost, material, health and safety. It is believed that your baby does not need shoes before they start walking as hard soles can get in the way of their development.
Before the baby starts to walk it’s best to keep them bare feet. To keep baby’s feet warm you can dress them in sock or knitted shoes made of wool. As soon as they start walking then it’s time to head to the store.
Choosing the right shoes for a baby can be a challenge. Take into consideration the protection of your precious baby’s feet when buying their shoes. Remember that their feet are soft and tender and should be protected from dangerous things such as splinters; however, the shoes should not be too hard as this may chafe them.

How to choose shoes for baby:

· Choose very flexible, rubbery bottoms with soft soles and sturdy upper material. Bottom should be non-skid to prevent them from slipping in spilt liquids and so forth. The best material for baby shoes is cloth because it’s breathable but very soft flexible leather can also be chosen. Hard leather is not recommended nor is plastic or other non-porous, un-breathable material.

· Velcro shoes are better for babies because they are easier to fasten, slip on or off in case of emergencies. You also don’t have to worry about laces becoming undone which can be potentially dangerous for babies who just started walking. Even adults trip on their laces sometimes.

· Shoes should be comfortable to them and not be too tight. When choosing the shoes take the baby with you and have them fit it. There should be enough space at the heel where you can wedge your pinky finger in; and space between the longest toe and front of shoes.

· Like adults the baby’s feet tend to swell a bit during the day so the best time for fitting would be afternoon. This way you are sure to get a good fit.

· Unlike adult shoes, babies don’t need to break in their new shoes. Have them wear the shoes for a little bit then make sure there is no chafing or bruising on your baby’s feet. If you find irritated spots, then you know you have chosen the wrong baby shoes.

· Lastly, The younger the baby, the more lightweight the shoes should be.
